Temporal Stability of Soil Microbial Properties in Responses to Long-Term Application of Compost Obtained from Tannery Sludge
نویسندگان
چکیده
Successive applications of compost obtained from tannery sludge affected the soil microbial biomass and activity. However, effect this practice on temporal stability properties is not known. This study evaluated biomass, respiration, enzymes activities in with successive sludge. Soil samples (0–10 cm depth) were collected sites application at lowest (2.5 ton/ha) highest (20 rates, including control (0 ton/ha). carbon (MBC) nitrogen (MBN), dehydrogenase, urease 0, 30-, 60-, 90-, 150-days post-application. The varied as per treatments sampling time. principal response curve showed higher variation treatment having rate compost. analysis urease, MBC most responsive parameters. parameters values that contributed to a decrease increase rate.

It is very important that tannery wastes in the form of sludge are managed in an environmentally sound manner. This study focused on the heavy metal characterization and the influence of changing the physico-chemical properties of the medium throughout the composting on the concentrations, bioavailability or chemical forms of Cr, Cu, Zn, Pb and Cd in tannery sludge. The physical and chemical pr...

The Long-Term Sludge Experiments (LTSE) began in 1994 as part of continuing research into the effects of sludge-borne heavy metals on soil fertility. The long-term effects of Zn, Cu, and Cd on soil microbial biomass carbon (Cmic) were monitored for 8 years (1997-2005) in sludge amended soils at nine UK field sites. To assess the statutory limits set by the UK Sludge (Use in Agriculture) Regulat...

Background: Malga cheeses are made in artisanal and seasonal dairies located in the Alps. This study was carried out to determine microbial diversity and sensorial properties of Malga cheese from Trentino (Italy) after long-term ageing period. The effects of adding the Fermalga Bacterial Pools (FBP) on microbiota biodiversity of cheese were also evaluated. Methods: Populations of Lactic Acid B...
